As Twitter whittles down the length of the average idea to 140-characters, QueryTracker sponsored a one-line literary pitch contest yesterday. The contest was only open for the 24 hours, but the submission limit of 300 pitches was reached in four short hours.
The one-sentence submissions will be judged by Joanna Stampfel-Volpe of Nancy Coffey Literary. The winners will be announced on Monday, April 20. The grand prize winner can submit their whole manuscript to Stampfel-Volpe, and three other winners can submit partials.
Despite reaching the original limit, the organizers decided to keep the contest open for a full 24 hours: “Because of the overwhelming interest we have received, it has been decided to continue accepting entries for the entire 24 hour period as originally stated. And everyone should thank [Elana Johnson] for her efforts and time she spent collecting and responding to the deluge of emails she has already received.” (Via Colleen Lindsay)
