The Canadian book design blog Première de couverture has a beautiful array of the covers that Penguin UK has created for 36 of its contemporary bestsellers in both fiction and non-fiction, matching the classic design that graced the company’s first paperback editions back in 1935, right down to the color schemes that separate literary fiction from crime novels and ordinary nonfiction from belles lettres (with two more colors, unseen here, for travel writing and biographies).
