‘Pawn Shop’ Graphic Novel Featured on Kickstarter

By Maryann Yin

Graphic novel creators Joey Esposito, Sean Von Gorman and Adam Pruett hope to raise $7,000 to fund the printing and distribution costs of their original graphic novel. Pawn Shop profiles four New York City characters connected through a pawn shop. Follow this link to view 6 pages from the book. Above we’ve embedded a video about the project–what do you think?

Here’s more about the project: “Pawn Shop was born out of the realization that there is nothing more fascinating, dramatic, intriguing, joyful, depressing, and outright absurd than everyday human existence. We’re turning to Kickstarter out of a need to explore these ideas. We know that there’s an audience out there for these kind of comics, and we think that’s the beauty of Kickstarter — people will support what they really want.”
