Patton Oswalt Writes an Essay on Fatherhood

Patton Oswalt (GalleyCat)Patton Oswalt has written an essay for GQ magazine. The comedic actor (pictured, via) explores the issues that come with being a single parent in a piece entitled “Patton Oswalt’s Year of Magical Parenting.”

Oswalt shares details about his experience being single father to his 7-year-old daughter, Alice. Oswalt’s wife, Michelle McNamara, passed away in April 2016. Here’s an excerpt from Oswalt’s essay:

“This is my first time being a single father. I’ve missed forms for school. I’ve forgotten to stock the fridge with food she likes. I’ve run out of socks for her. I’ve run out of socks for me. It sucked and it was a hassle every time, but the world kept turning.”
