OverDrive Launches E-Book Service For Elementary Schools

Digital book distribution service OverDrive has introduced a new program that brings e-books to elementary school kids.

The K-5 QuickStart program brings 200 e-books to school kids grads K-5, including Read-Alongs and picture books. Schools can purchase access to this program for $499 a year. The e-books are then available on and offline. There is no need for an app, the content is available through a web browser. Multiple students can read the same book at the same time. These e-books are available both at school and at home.

“Read-Along eBooks powered by OverDrive are seeing tremendous success in school catalogs across the country and now young readers in K-5 QuickStart can easily follow along with these interactive titles that combine the colorful text and images of an eBook with highlighted words as the narrator reads,” stated Brian Potash, manager of OverDrive Education Sales. “This helps readers better understand sentence structure, language flow and syntax.”
