Ten authors from around the country have joined Operation Warrior Library, sharing their books with military personnel overseas. Participating authors have included Alice Sebold, Charlie Huston, and Brad Meltzer.

Organized by novelist Paul Malmont and Col. George Reynolds, this literary supply chain has shipped hundreds of books to soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Now, they are looking for more writers to share books with the men and women serving overseas. If you are a writer of publisher looking to participate, can write warriorlibrary [at] gmail [dot] com for more information.

Here’s an excerpt from the website: “Authors can help by sending us a box or two of their most recent book. Publishers can help by sending either boxes of single titles or mixed boxes of their recent bestsellers. Both fiction and non-fiction are welcome. Again, it’s really important that the books be recently published and not remainders so that the troops know that they are not a charity dumping ground but rather the special recipients of only the best contributions.”
