Online textbook marketplace Valore has acquired Boundless, a digital textbook publishing startup, in a deal whose terms were not disclosed.

By acquiring Boundless, Valore hopes to make college textbooks more affordable and more accessible to students and teachers. Boundless gives educators and students access to thousands of teaching materials including: slides, quizzes, readings and textbooks through a subscription-based cloud offering. Using the platform, teachers can build their own teaching content or modify course materials within the network. The company counts more than four million users a month.

Valore runs online textbook marketplace ValoreBooks, as well as SimpleTuition, a private student loan comparison engine. Together the company reaches 15 million students, hundreds of thousands of educators, tens of thousands of merchants and hundreds of bookstores and schools. By bringing Boundless into Valore, the company will expand its offering to this audience and be able to push its existing services on Boundless users. With the new business unit, the company expects to earn more than $100 million in revenue this year.
