9-Year-Old Options TV Rights on Book Series

Nine-year-old reporter Hilde Lysiak, who broke a murder story that made national headlines this spring, has inked a movie deal.

Paramount Television and Anonymous Content have optioned the rights to her upcoming Scholastic book series Hilde Cracks the Case. The companies plan to develop a television show based on the mystery series that Lysiak is working on with her father. Sharlene Martin of Martin Literary & Media Management will be executive producing the project along with Joy Gorman of Anonyomous Content.

The book and subsequent TV show will be inspired by real life news stories that Lysiak wrote for her self-published monthly newspaper called The Orange Street News. The mystery novels star Hilde and Izzy, her older sister and newspaper photographer.
