J.K. Rowling, a beloved author and the screenwriter behind the Fantastic Beasts film series, first mentioned this character in the Harry Potter book series. For Harry Potter and his fellow students at Hogwarts, Newt Scamander was known as the writer of a textbook entitled Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Newt Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne, made his silver screen debut in the recently released Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie.
