Sir Quentin Blake 200 (GalleyCat)The National Museum Cardiff, an institution based in Wales, has been hosting the “Quentin Blake: Inside Stories” exhibit.

Here’s more from the organization’s website: “It includes first roughs and storyboards, many never shown before, with finished artwork to demonstrate how ideas evolved, often in close collaboration with the authors. It shows how Blake brings to bear a wide range of different techniques and media including inks, watercolours and pastels applied with a variety of touch, in response to the particular mood of a book and the nature of its characters, to create his distinctive and unforgettable illustrations.”

This program showcases the work that Blake (pictured, via) has done on several popular children’s books such as his own picture book Clown, The Twits by Roald Dahl, and The Boy in The Dress by David Walliams. The closing date has been scheduled for November 20.
