NaNoWriMo Tip #19: Use Correct Writing Posture

By Jason Boog

After 19 days straight of writing for National Novel Writing Month, we can imagine you are both exhausted and sore. Time to check your writing posture–follow this correct writing posture advice from ErgoWorks.

Here are a few tips: “Relax the shoulders and neck, and sit up straight. Students who hunch down over their papers often experience neck, back, and shoulder pain … Maintain a neutral wrist position. Keeping the wrist straight during writing prevents wrist pain and protects against carpal tunnel … Grip the pen or pencil as lightly as possible.”

This is our nineteenth NaNoWriMo Tip of the Day. As writers around the country join the writing marathon this month, we will share one piece of advice or writing tool to help you cope with this daunting project.
