MTA To Discontinue Train of Thought Program

New York City’s Metropolitan Transit Authority will discontinue their Train of Thought program. The program showcased advertisements featuring quotes from some of the world’s most celebrated intellectuals. The program is a spin-off of Poetry in Motion, a poetry program MTA ran from 1992 to 2008.

The New York Times reports: “Train of Thought, which broadened the author pool from poets to historians, philosophers and scientists, apparently did not achieve the canonical status of its predecessor. The authority chose not to renew a contract with the program’s sponsor, the quiz show ‘Jeopardy!,’ and the series is not likely to return, according to an authority spokesman.”
