Morgan Freeman Reads ‘Invictus’ by William Ernest Henley

In honor of National Poetry Month, we dug up a video of Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman reading Invictus.

In 2009, Freeman played President Nelson Mandela in a film that shares its name with the poem. Freeman’s character made references to the piece several times throughout the movie.

Victorian poet William Ernest Henley wrote the short poem in 1875 while he was in a hospital bed.
