Previously, Bryan had worked as international sales and marketing director for Penguin–serving both the UK and United States. More recently, he was president of Penguin India. Davidar also held that post earlier in his career. In addition, the sexual harassment suit against Davidar has been settled.

The National Post explains: “Bryan takes over for former Penguin Canada president David Davidar, who left the company last month under a cloud of controversy. He was accused of sexual harassment by former rights and contracts director Lisa Rundle — she launched a $523,000 suit against Davidar and Penguin Canada — though he maintained it was a ‘consensual, flirtatious relationship.’ All three parties reached a settlement on Tuesday, and on Wednesday it was announced that Lisa Rundle will return to her previous job with Penguin ‘in a few weeks’ time.'”
