Memoir Writing Group Looking for Members

By Jason Boog

Ever since we launched our directory of people looking for writers groups, we have found hundreds of writers looking for different kinds of writing support.

These invaluable groups can motivate you to write more, critique your work or even help you publicize your work.

To help our readers find support, we will occasionally spotlight a writers group looking for new members. If you are looking for an online writing group, you could try The Memoir Writers Society writing group.

Founder Lisa Kerr shared more information for interested writers:

My memoir group is looking for new members and we’re in two spots online: LinkedIn (primary) and Ning (hoping to transition over in 2014) … We have over 500 members on LinkedIn and with the migration to Ning, we’re the first social network for memoir writers to connect with each other and share their work. We’re a global community whose members range in experience from holding MFAs to being self-taught; some writers are published, some are just discovering memoir; some will self-publish, others will query agents. We believe individual connections are what make up a strong online writing community, so we work hard to connect people with similar interests and goals (matching people, doing mixers and meet and greets, having members blog about writing, etc.)
