Melville House Starts Jakob Arjouni Fund to Fight Pancreatic Cancer

Melville House has established The Jakob Arjouni Fund to Fight Pancreatic Cancer to celebrate the memory of German crime fiction author Jakob Arjouni.

Arjouni wrote five crime novels about a detective named featuring the heroic underdog detective Kemal Kayankaya. The organizers hope to raise $100,000 in his memory for pancreatic cancer research. Here’s more about the fund:

The Arjouni Fund will be administered by the Lustgarten Foundation, the world’s largest private foundation dedicated to pancreatic cancer research, with 100% of donations going directly to research. Melville House will be donating proceeds from its sales of the just-published Brother Kemal, Jakob Arjouni’s last book.
