Matt Bird has signed a deal with Writer’s Digest Press. He plans to write a nonfiction book entitled The Secrets of Story: Innovative Tools for Perfecting Your Fiction and Captivating Readers.
Bird has become well-known as the creator of the Cockeyed Caravan writing blog. For the past week, Bird has been posting questions on his blog and using crowdsourcing to help with finalizing his manuscript.
According to School Library Journal, Phil Sexton, the vice president and group publisher, negotiated the terms of acquisition with Stephen Barbara, a literary agent at Inkwell Management. The release date has been set for November 2016.
