Would you ever support a comic book villain who was making a 2016 presidential bid? During a recent C2E2 panel, Marvel announced its intention to publish a new satirical series entitled Vote Loki.
The Asgardian god of mischief will be running as an independent. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first issue will be released in June. Christopher Hastings, a writer, and Langdon Foss, an artist, have signed on to create this project.
In an interview with the publisher, Hastings revealed that he could not disclose why Loki is embarking on this political venture. However, he did share that “Loki’s exact motivations are part of the mystery of the series, but on the surface, Loki sees a destabilized landscape and an opportunity to make a grab for power. And he enjoys the political game! This is a new place for him to play it.” (via Comic Book Resources)
