Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Needs a Managing Editor, Stat

By Nadine Cheung

If you’re looking for a short-term gig that will look great on your resume, listen up. Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia is on the hunt for a freelance managing editor for its books and special projects department. Here’s the deal, though: the job begins next week.

If you land the assignment, you’ll be responsible for managing editorial workflow and making sure all materials are delivered on time. You’ll maintain the editorial calendar, update lineups, set proof and closing schedules. Of course, you’ll also ensure the copy is consistent for style, accuracy and grammar.

The job will run about six weeks, and requires someone with at least five years of editorial experience under his or her belt. It’s not a full-time position, but keep in mind that your excellent work could lead to other opportunities within the company. Super-organized and detail-oriented editors should apply here.
