Scholastic will publish a picture book written by Grammy Award-winning singer Mariah Carey and comedian Nick Cannon. Roc and Roe’s Twelve Days of Christmas is scheduled to hit bookstores in Fall 2014.
Desmond and the Very Mean Word illustrator AG Ford has signed on to create the artwork for this project. The celebrity husband-and-wife collaborators (pictured, via) intend for this book to be enjoyed by readers age 3 and up. The protagonists are based on the couple’s twin kids Moroccan and Monroe (nicknamed Roc and Roe).
According to the press release, the story “follows Roc and Roe as they put their own unique spin on the Christmas carol ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas.’ The deal was developed by D. Christopher Jennings and Robert Caruso, founders of Impact Republic, Nick Cannon’s Ncredible Entertainment, and Ken Geist, Vice President and Editorial Director, Scholastic Press Picture Books.” What do you think?
