Malcolm Gladwell’s New Book Explores David & Goliath

Little, Brown has acquired the North American rights to Malcolm Gladwell’s new book David and Goliath. The publication is slated for release in 2013.

In this new book, the author of The Tipping Point, Outliers and Blink, will explore underdogs who confront powerful organizations. Literary agent Tina Bennett of Janklow & Nesbit Associates negotiated the deal.

The release has more about the book: “Why are we so often surprised when underdogs win? Do Goliaths make mistakes in spite of their strength—or because of it? David and Goliath looks at revolutionaries and dictators, the privileged and the poor, and misfits and straight arrows in an effort to figure out who really has the advantage in any kind of contest—and why.”

Under the terms of the deal, Hachette Audio will release an audio edition of the book read by Gladwell, which will come out at the same time as the hardcover book.
