Makeup Tips for Author Photos

We seized the opportunity to interview Rick DiCecca, the company’s global makeup stylist–getting some quick makeup tips for author photos. His advice follows…

1-“If it’s going to be black and white, use eyeliner at the base of the lashes, mascara, cover up any imperfections with concealer and a foundation. You don’t want it to be too much–you want a little bit of luminosity on the skin, a little bit of shine on the lips. But you don’t want to overdo it.”

2-“If you have a woman or a man that you work with at a beauty counter at the cosmetics store, ask that person for advice. At Estée Lauder, I’ve trained our associates with twelve signature techniques … Ask them, what’s the best way to make my eyes stand out? What’s the best way for me to get definition on my skin?”

3-“Remember–it’s all about soft definition and even skin.”
