Madeline McIntosh Named COO at Random House

Random House president of sales, digital and operations Madeline McIntosh has been promoted to chief operating officer (COO). According to paidContent, she begins her new role immediately.

McIntosh will continue to perform her previous duties which include overseeing IT, corporate digital product development, corporate marketing development, digital and print sales, audio and travel publishing and third-party distribution. She will report to CEO Markus Dohle.

Here’s more from Dohle’s letter to the staff: “Madeline personally embodies in so many respects the values that we as a company hold high: She is a transparent and clear communicator; she is dedicated to teamwork and collaboration; and she combines a passion for books and publishing with pragmatic business expertise and the highest integrity. I know that I am among many who benefit daily from Madeline’s insights and ideas, and I am personally grateful to have her as a member of the Random House family and our worldwide senior management team.”

At Random House, McIntosh has worked in sales, online sales and within the audiobook group. In 2008, she left the company to serve as director of Kindle Content Acquisition in Europe before returning to Random House less than two years later. (via Sarah Weinman)
