When Alan Moore’s Lost Girls came out a few months back, we told you that the Great Ormond Street Hospital, which inherited the copyrights on Peter Pan, expressed outrage over the depiction of Wendy in Moore’s pornographic romp through late 19th- and early 20th-century children’s literature. Top Shelf publisher Chris Staros reports in his latest company newsletter that the matter has been settled to everybody’s satisfaction: “Without conceding that the work necessarily breaches the GOSH copyright,” he writes, “Top Shelf Productions will withhold United Kingdom (UK) and European Union (EU) distribution of Lost Girls until the end of 2007, when the Peter Pan copyright in the UK and EU expires.” The UK first edition is already being prepped for its release on January 1, 2008.
