Lost Girls Collaborators Wed

alanmoore-melindagibbie.jpgComics fandom was cheered over the weekend by the Northampton wedding of author Alan Moore and artist Melinda Gibbie, the co-creators of Lost Girls, a multi-volume graphic novel published last summer in which, as we explained last year, “Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz meets Alice from Alice in Wonderland and Wendy from Peter Pan, and (as near as I can make out from the descriptions) they tell each other X-rated versions of their stories while having hot sex with each other.” For fans, it was a star-studded guest list; I swiped the photo from Neil Gaiman’s blog, where other industry pros, like Moore’s Watchmen collaborator, Dave Gibbons, can also be spotted. Moore was “resplendent in his Edwardian finery,” Gaiman wrote, “and should he now abandon his writing career and begin fighting crime as The Peacock—he’s a dangerous dandy!—I wouldn’t be at all surprised. Mel was gorgeous too. But she didn’t look like a potential crimefighter.”
