LB_159.pngToday Little, Brown announced a new crime imprint entitled Mulholland Books, named after a curvy Los Angeles street that has inspired countless chase scenes and noir meditations. Editor John Schoenfelder will run the imprint, and Miriam Parker will serve as marketing director.

The imprint will debut in spring 2011 with mysteries by prosecutor Marcia Clark, Lawrence Block, and Duane Swierczynski. By 2012, the imprint aims to publish 24 books a year, releasing one hardcover and one paperback every month.

Little, Brown publisher Michael Pietsch had this statement: “There is an extraordinary body of suspense fiction being written today–
novels and stories whose goal is to entertain and surprise at all costs, from the first sentence. Everyone at Little, Brown is excited to be taking part in the launch of Mulholland Books, an imprint whose goal is to single out these writers and publish them with an eye to community building and fresh marketing that has only become possible today.”
