Brian Selznick will celebrate the launch of his new illustrated book, entitled The Marvels, at Books of Wonder. Check it out on Tuesday, Sept. 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (New York, N.Y.)

Salman Rushdie will headline a Thalia Book Club event at Symphony Space; he will discuss his latest novel Two Years Eight Months and Twenty-Eight Nights. Meet him on Wednesday, Sept. 16 starting 7:30 p.m. (New York, N.Y.)

ringShout’s Brooklyn Book Festival Bookend event will feature readings and conversation with a trio of African-American authors. Join in on Thursday, Sept. 17 at the Franklin Park Lounge from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (Brooklyn, N.Y.)

Meg Waite Clayton will appear at the Vernon Area Public Library to talk about her book, The Race for Paris. See her on Friday, Sept. 18 starting 1 p.m. (Chicago, Ill.)

Five novelists will take part in the next session of the Franklin Park Reading Series. Hear them on Monday, Sept. 21 at the Franklin Park Lounge from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
