Devil in the White City Cover (GalleyCat)Leonardo DiCaprio, a five-time Oscar nominee, will play serial killer H.H. Holmes in The Devil in the White City. The story for this adaptation project is based on Erik Larson’s 2003 bestselling nonfiction book.

In the past, DiCaprio has acted in several book-based projects including Romeo + Juliet, The Great Gatsby and The RevenantVariety reports that this film will reunite DiCaprio with Academy Award-winning director Martin Scorsese.

Here’s more from Vanity Fair: “Larson’s book tells the twin narratives of Holmes the serial killer and Daniel H. Burnham the architect behind the Chicago’s World Fair. No word yet on whether the Scorsese film will include Burnham’s story alongside that of Holmes, but Scorsese is no stranger to dual narratives and dramatic foils. Why not make The Devil in the White City a complete Departed reunion and draft Matt Damon for the role of Burnham?”
