Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro will serve as the director. Earlier this year, Academy Award-nominated actor James Franco confirmed that he would take on the lead role of George Milton. According to Deadline, Chris O’Dowd will portray the rabbit-loving giant, Lennie Small.

Here’s more from The Hollywood Reporter: “The former Gossip Girl star, like Franco and O’Dowd, will be making her Broadway debut in the revival of John Steinbeck‘s Depression-era drama, which the Nobel Prize-winning author adapted for the stage from his iconic 1937 novella of the same name. Prior to breaking through in television, Meester began her career performing in regional theater.”
