Kindle Debuts Singles Classics

Kindle has introduced a new series called “Singles Classics,” a publishing vehicle for “iconic articles, stories and essays from well-known authors writing for top magazines and periodicals available in digital form.”

The series, which is a part of Amazon’s Kindle Singles short form content program, launches with 140 essays and stories. It includes works from: Norman Mailer, Gloria Steinem, Lawrence WrightMargo JeffersonGay Talese and Chang-rae Lee, among others. The essays were previously featured in publications including: Time, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, Esquire, The Atlantic and Playboy. The articles cost $0.99 and available for free to Kindle Unlimited subscribers.

“Some writing is meant just for the moment, but much of it–the best of it–is worth reading and rereading,” said author Susan Orlean. “Singles Classics finally gives us a way to enjoy those timeless pieces.”
