Keira Knightley Stars in Upcoming Adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go

By Jason Boog

The first trailer for the adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel Never Let Me Go has arrived. The film stars Keira Knightley, and looks pretty good so far. What do you think?

The adaptation was directed by Mark Romanek, the music video director behind One Hour Photo. The Beach novelist Alex Garland wrote the screenplay.

Defamer had these thoughts on the trailer: “Romanek is a terrific music video director (Johnny Cash’s ‘Hurt’), but has only done two features–I’d feel a little more confident. But who knows. Maybe the actual movie will be as wintry and peculiar as the book is, and the trailer is just rife with soaring string music and lovely sun-dappled shots so they can lure in the typical three-hanky crowd.”
