Kate Reed Petty, a writer, and Boya Sun, a comics artist, will work on a graphic novel entitled Chasma Knights. The two collaborators have signed a deal with First Second Books.
This book features a universe where toys can grant people magical abilities. This story stars two protagonists: a knight named Coro and a knight-turned-engineer named Beryl.
Both creators sat down for an interview with Panels. Boya talked about one of the goals behind this project: “Like how nature can be as tiny as insects and as giant as mountains, I wanted to create a world that does not come short of the richness of our world. The Chasma universe is rooted in inventions, imagination, and the endless possibilities of transformation.” (via the First Second tumblr page)
