Julia MacKay and Greg Freed have joined the Content Acquisition team at eBook subscription company Scribd. MacKay will serve as the Manager of Content Acquisition based in Scribd’s New York office and Freed will serve as Content Operations Specialist in Scribd’s San Francisco headquarters.
MacKay comes to Scribd from Janklow & Nesbit Associates, where she spent 3.5 years working in foreign rights. Prior to her stint at the literary agency, she was an intern at Stephanie Dolgoff/Fletcher & Company. She has a BA in Government, Law & Society from Cornell University.
Freed has spent more than 8 years working in the publishing industry. He comes to Scribd from RosettaBooks, where he spent more than three years as the company’s Director of Production and Distribution. He has also worked for Penguin and Scholastic. Freed has a BA in Great Texts of the Western Tradition from Baylor University and Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Emerson College.
