Journalists Raising Money to Document Melting Glaciers in Uganda

By Dianna Dilworth

Photojournalist Klaus Thymann and journalist Ian Daly are raising money for a photo-expedition and an online archive about the melting glaciers of the Ruwenzori Mountains in Uganda.

According to the project organizers, these African glaciers will melt over the next ten years, making the photo expedition more urgent. In the video embedded above, you can learn more about the project.

Here’s more about the project: “This photo-expedition will be a visual time capsule. All of the resources, images data etc. created by Project Pressure will be open source and free to use by others. Your donation will help cover costs such as travel and local help so funds will filter back into the local economy. I donate my time and the usage for open source, but we need your support to create them. Upon my return I will produce a 50×50 cm fine-art print in 5 editions; four will be donated randomly in a democrat fashion. However, the 1st edition will be secured by the most generous donor who can also get a private lecture ($2000 reserve). Everyone will be kept updated using text, pictures and I will provide you with exclusive video updates.”
