John Patrick Green has signed a deal with the Macmillan imprint, First Second Books. He has written the story and created the illustrations for a graphic novel picture book entitled House Kittens.
The story stars an adorable group of kittens who run a construction company. The publication date has been set for 2018.
Green shared this statement with us about his forthcoming book: “I can’t wait to share House Kittens with the world. I’ve always loved stories about underdogs (or undercats, I should say) and characters who are on a quest to prove themselves, which is the driving theme behind this tale of feline construction workers. I think a lot of people can relate to situations where one isn’t taken seriously because of their size, age, shape, or adorableness. I’ve definitely been there, and as an artist I feel like I’ve come full circle with this book.”
