Jim Gaffigan Lands Deal for Second Book

By Jason Boog

Author and comedian Jim Gaffigan has inked a deal to publish another essay collection.

Once again, Crown Publishing Group’s Crown Archetype imprint will publish his collection. They currently have more than 115,000 hardcover copies of his first collection, Dad Is Fat, in print.

Executive editor Suzanne O’Neill negotiated the deal with Creative Artists Agency. Brillstein Entertainment Partners agent Alex Murray represents the author.

Here’s more from the release:

The yet untitled book will be a collection of essays about one of Gaffigan’s favorite topics: food. In his popular stand-up act, Gaffigan is known for riffing on everything from bacon to kale, to most famously, Hot Pockets. The book will be published in 2014 … Gaffigan tirelessly supported the release of Dad Is Fat with extensive media and book-signing appearances, many of which were standing room only, including a seventeen-city book tour where the last nine cities were done by bus.
