Jesse Peretz has signed on to take the helm of the Juliet, Naked film adaptation. In the past, he has directed a select number of episodes from several popular TV shows including Girls, Nurse Jackie, and Orange is the New Black.
Slash Film reports that the story comes from Nick Hornby’s 2009 novel. Judd Apatow will serve as a producer.
Here’s more from Deadline: “Juliet, Naked is the story of Annie, the long-suffering girlfriend of Duncan, and her unlikely transatlantic romance with once revered, now faded, singer-songwriter, Tucker Crowe, who also happens to be the subject of Duncan’s musical obsession…The script was written by Tamara Jenkins (The Savages, Slums of Beverly Hills) and Jim Taylor (Sideways, About Schmidt) with revisions by Phil Alden Robinson and Evgenia Peretz.”
