Jennifer Lawrence, an Academy Award-winning actress, has been cast in The Rosie Project. Lawrence (pictured, via) has become well-known for acting in book-based film adaptations including The Hunger Games, Silver Linings Playbook and Serena.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, the screenwriting duo behind (500) Days of Summer, were brought on to collaborate on the script. They worked together to adapt Graeme Simsion’s 2014 novel.
Variety reports that one of the main characters of this story “designs the Wife Project to find his perfect partner through a 16-page survey to filter out drinkers, smokers and late arrivers — characteristics possessed by the titular Rosie Jarman. The professor becomes intrigued by Rosie’s own quest to identify her biological father, leading to an unlikely relationship as they collaborate on The Father Project.”
