Is Blagojevich Close to a Book Deal?

Two weeks ago, GalleyCat reported that Rod Blagojevich was visiting New York publishers, presumably looking to shop a memoir. Today, senior editor Ron Hogan received another tip, from a publisher who isn’t interested in the book, indicating that the ex-governor’s literary agent is still working the beat. Take this hearsay tip for what it’s worth, as it’s plausible but unverified: We’re told that there’s already one offer on the table, for what Publishers Marketplace might call a “good deal” (between $100,000 and $250,000), and that an aggressive search for better counteroffers is underway.
