As big publishing houses dramatically downsize, the iPhone is still gaining users–and at least a half million of them like to read books.
Digital readers are already crossing platforms between stand-alone readers and mobile phones. Yesterday, GalleyCat reported that Stanza, the leading iPhone e-reader application with 575,000 users, inked a deal with Fictionwise to bring 40,000 new books to the online catalog for the iPhone.
