A group of Hobbit and Lord of the Rings enthusiasts have launched an indiegogo campaign hoping to build “The Shire: America.” This team aims to raise $7.3 million.
If the campaign proves successful, the funds will be used to develop the the attraction and to host an annual “Shire” festival. Have you ever wanted to go on a J.R.R. Tolkien-themed adventure?
Here’s more from the campaign web page: “We are also aiming to create a yearly arts and music festival. Our goal would be to produce a week long festival with plenty of space for camping, crafts, and musical acts. Imagine seeing music royalty rocking out with you in The Shire!! We hope to join in and create an experience that competes with famous festivals like Bonaroo, Coachella, and Lollapalooza.”
