You’ll never forget your first free book. Today, thriller novelist M.J. Rose announced she will be giving away free digital copies of her book, The Reincarnationist.
The book will be free for download for the next 10-days, tempting both frugal and uncommitted readers around the country. She also explained in a HuffPo essay how giving away a book helped her career eight years ago.
“Back in 1999 and 2000 a few of us… a very few of us… Douglas Clegg, Seth Godin and I… offered free electronic copies of our books in an effort to reach an audience we otherwise wouldn’t have reached … We each wound up selling many more copies of the books that we gave away than anyone expected and for each of us the experiment was a success.”
