The site now counts 961,940 members sharing 8,201,799 books in 132 countries. As you can see by the Wishlist Stats, readers around the world are looking for three novelists in particular: Jodi Picoult, Terry Pratchett, Alexander McCall Smith, Janet Evanovich, and Stephenie Meyer.

A New York Times article about the project paraphrased the old adage: “if you love your books, let them go.” Below, we’ve listed the 10 most traveled books at Book Crossing–including the number of times it has been passed from reader to reader.
