Howling Poor Parents in Brooklyn Get Booked

Howl! Festival starts today and will continue throughout the weekend (September 10th to 12th) at Tompkins Square Park. (New York, NY)

The Wooster Group is hosting an event titled “What to Read When You’re Poor” with proceeds going to the writing collective, Still Waters in a Storm. Writers Peter Carey, Peter Hedges, Richard Price, Adrian Nicole LeBlanc and Russell Banks will participate. The date is Saturday, September 11th starting 7:00pm at The Performing Garage and while the suggested donation is $20, any donated amount is appreciated. (New York, NY)

Pen Parentis Literary Salon hosts an event featuring Jennifer Egan and Darin Strauss on Tuesday, September 14th at 6:30 in the Libertine Library at Gild Hall. Pen Parentis is a collective of authors who are parents. (New York, NY)

The Brooklyn Book Festival is happening from 10am to 6pm on Sunday, September 12th. Their correlating Bookend events which includes parties, music, film screenings, children’s theatre, literary games and author appearances will be happening all weekend. (Brooklyn, NY)
