How to Make an Interactive Comic

By Maryann Yin

Jason Shiga, the Eisner Award-winning author of Meanwhile: Pick Any Path: 3,856 Story Possibilities, showed readers how to make an interactive comic in the video embedded above.

The project requires a large piece of paper, scissors, drawing materials, and your imagination. Shiga takes the viewer through the step by step process of folding the paper, blocking out the story, and drawing the comic.

If you make an interactive comic, send us a photo. The Webster Branch of the New York Public Library recently featured Shiga’s book in its “Do You Judge a Book by Its Cover?” campaign.
