How Much Is Karl Rove Holding Out For?

According to a report from Crain’s New York Business, publishers aren’t necessarily climbing all over each other to acquire Karl Rove‘s memoirs in the weeks after his tour of the major houses. “Early reports had predicted a $3 million sale,” says Matthew Flamm, “but some insiders are wondering if [Rove’s attorney, Robert Barnett] has had trouble getting to that number.” An unnamed executive from one of the houses still bidding on the book describes the process as “very, very slow.”

$3 million? That’s not even “White House money.”
