41777_1563674116_3169_n.jpgAfter her husband died at 29-years-old, Hyla Molander began writing a memoir about the heartbreaking experience. Flustered by her search for an agent, she turned to the online writing community at Scribd in April–earning more than 33,000 reads in a few months.

Today, Writer’s Digest interviewed Molander and she explained how she built her online readership: “[It’s] important to upload something new on a weekly basis, even if it’s only a few pages, so you can keep your audience interested and expanding. Commenting on other writers’ pieces is a must, too. Find writers you enjoy, subscribe to them, and share the writing that moves you with your friends. You may just discover that these writers also enjoy reading your words.”
