Rumors have been circulating around Hollywood that Game of Thrones might run for eight seasons. What’s more, there may be a spin-off prequel series in the works.
Mashable reports that in the past, the team at HBO claimed that the adaptation would only be on the air for seven seasons. During a recent interview, programming president Michael Lombardo expressed that he is open to both the eight seasons and prequel ideas.
According to Vanity Fair, Lombardo offered this statement about the subject: “I would be open to anything that Dan and David wanted to do about Game of Thrones or any subject matter…It really would depend fully on what they wanted to do.
