Haruki Murakami Celebrated in an Animated Video

By Maryann Yin

Dr. Ilana Simons has created a short animated film celebrating Japanese novelist Haruki Murakami.

In a Psychology Today blog post, Simons calls him her “favorite living writer” and credits him for inspiring “grand journeys of imagination without using too many adjectives.” We’ve embedded the entire film, About Haruki Murakami, above–what do you think?

A new Murakami short story was recently published in The New Yorker. The English translation of his latest novel, Colourless Tsukuru Tazaki and the Year of His Pilgrimage, will be released on August 12, 2014.
