Harry Potter’s Hogwarts Acceptance Letter Up for Auction

Harry Potter’s Hogwarts acceptance letter from the 2001 film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is going up for auction on Wednesday.

The film prop is expected to fetch more than £4,000 (US$ 6,000) at Prop Store’s Entertainment Memorabilia Auction. The auction will take place at Odeon BFI IMAX, in Waterloo, London, at 2 p.m.

“Harry’s invitation to Hogwarts marks a key moment in the young man’s life, and kicked off one of the most successful film franchises in history,” stated Stephen Lane, Prop Store CEO, said of Harry Potter’s Hogwarts acceptance letter. “Cinemagoers followed Harry’s adventures through eight films, and the sale of this invitation represents a chance to connect with the wizarding world in an unprecedented way. The invitation is a small piece of film history.”
